Pool deck with a light flake coating

Pool decks

Pool deck floors for standing water and bare feet

The same sequence we run in garages — a diamond-ground slab, a UV-stable polyaspartic base, a full flake broadcast, and a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat — built for full sun, standing water and bare feet.

What you get

What a Final Finish outdoor floor includes

Full flake broadcast

Flake is broadcast to refusal across the entire slab, then scraped flat, so the deck reads as one continuous surface.

UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat

A pool deck has no shade. The topcoat is the layer that faces the sun, and we specify a UV-stable polyaspartic for it.

Texture where it gets wet

Texture can be built into the topcoat for wet areas. We will show you the options on site rather than quote you a number.

Long-Term Warranties

A written warranty on the system. Ask what is covered for your slab at the consultation.

What changes on a pool deck

Water, sun and bare feet, all day

These are the three things we plan around before we quote a pool deck.

The level of anti-slip

Wet and barefoot all day, so anti-slip texture is built into the topcoat. How much is your call: we show you the levels on a sample board and match it to how the deck is used.

Polyaspartic UV-stable base coat

Outdoors the base coat changes: a UV-stable polyaspartic base goes under the flake instead of epoxy, so the whole system holds up to full sun, not just the topcoat.

Optional UV+ flakes

For decks in relentless sun, UV+ flakes are an option: the same look, with added protection against fading, so the deck stays the color you picked.

The process

Six steps, start to finish

Most installs take one to two days. Walk on it in 4 hours, drive on it in 24.

  1. 01

    Inspect & measure

Concrete condition and a moisture test, measured on site.

  2. 02

    Diamond grind

We grind the slab to open the profile so the base can bond.

  3. 03

    Repair

Cracks, pits and spalled edges filled and shaped.

  4. 04

    Base coat

A UV-stable polyaspartic base outdoors. A vapor barrier goes under it if moisture readings run high.

  5. 05

    Full flake

Flake broadcast to refusal across the whole floor, then scraped.

  6. 06

    Topcoat & walkthrough

Polyaspartic topcoat, then we walk the finished floor with you.

Colors

Flake blends

Blends are chosen at the consultation against your house and the light the slab gets.
